Active Threat Control Blocking Steam Browser

Hi,

In getting used to this software after getting a key in the Humble Bundle, I found that it was blocking web traffic through the built in browser for Steam. This meant I could only access my library and nothing else. In troubleshooting and testing different settings I found that Active Threat Control was responsible. After disabling it and re-launching Steam I was once again able to load pages through the client web browser. Re-enabling it again blocked traffic, but lowering it to Permissive from Normal allowed traffic through. I hope this helps other people having the same issue and I hope in a future update we can resume using the Normal ATC level alongside Steam. I apologize if this information has been posted previously, and if anyone would like more info on what I did feel free to let me know.

Thanks,

akwonder

  • Set ATC to NORMAL

Allow programs or dedicated ports to communicate through firewall: Steam.exe, steamwebhelper.exe and your games eg. "Steam\steamapps\common\Counter-Strike Global Offensive\csgo.exe"

Check your router port forwarding, enable UPnP in your router.

I can play more than 10 Steam games with bitdefender and ATC > ON
