I need help. Bitdefender Agent has encountered a critical error! for about 2 months now.

Options

As title states, I've gotten Bitdefender Agent has encountered a critical error! for about two months now.

No updates fix it, no uninstall or reinstall fixes it, I even used Revo uninstaller and completely wiped Bitdefender from my system several times, restarting in between each time and it still does this, regardless of what I do. As far as I know, nothing changed and it just started happening randomly... The only thing I can think of, is the Windows 10 Creator's Update came out, it started shortly after that, but worked for awhile after.

I really don't know what to do. I'm at a loss. Please help. I've already contacted support and they were entirely useless.

Attached are the two popups I get. The second pic is after it crashes a good 4-5 times.

  • Well Honestly it is not safe to use a third party software to fully uninstall the Bitdefender the thing is that some of the Bitdefender files will be retained on the system itself but by the way you mention that you are using the windows 10 creator update?

Did you also try to uninstall the Bitdefender using the uninstaller tool? https://www.bitdefender.com/uninstall/

After that try to run in cmd: sfc/scannow then let me know if you have any other third party security applications besides Bitdefender

Revo uninstaller was suggested by the support staff, as well as the official uninstaller. I have tried both with no change. :(

I have no other security software running, I'll run an sfc but I have doubts about it working.

    Thanks for the reply.

So after running an sfc and using the official uninstaller to try and make sure the previous copy was completely gone, it's happened again. :(

I'm close to giving up, the only thing that's stopping me is I have a subscription that lasts until 2019 that I really would rather not get rid of...
