  • I have a stand alone PC connected to the internet by a pnp dongle. It is not always on and when I boot up it does not automatically connect to the internet.

In the Firewall general rules it has:

Incoming Remote Desktop Connections - Allow

    What is this?

The last thing I want is someone on the internet connecting to my PC.

Should this be allowed or Denied?

What incoming remote connections could be legit for simple internet access?

    Cheers!

  • Hello Utterly Disillusioned

When your PC is not connected to the internet there is no way for anyone to gain remote access to your PC. :D

If you are not planning to connect to your PC from remote location my advice is to turn off Incoming Remote Desktop Connections.

    Cheers! ^_^

  • Hi,

You have to disable this on the Firewall general rules to prevent unauthorized access to your PC. You will enable this if there need to access your PC remotely or if you want to

access using another PC.Incoming remote connections are legit if you are authorizing it otherwise, it will be not legit if you are not aware or have a need to access your PC remotely.

    Hope this helps.
