Android volume banner timeout.
Hello!
I wonder if anyone else is having this issue. I have a Sony Xperia XA1 Ultra mobile phone (Android) with the paid version of Bitdefender Security app installed. Ever since I installed the app, I noticed that whilst watching any video clips on my phone, if I increase or decrease the volume, the volume banner at the top remains at the top for around 15 seconds. I have to press somewhere on the video playing to remove the banner sooner. Before I installed the Bitdefender Security app, the timeout of the volume banner was no more than 3 seconds.
I have done some research into this hoping to find a solution. Apparently this is a common issue when apps are granted accessibility services. On Android, Settings, Accessibility, Services. I see here listed 'Bitdefender Mobile Security', with 'ON' written underneath. Turning this accessibility service off is possible and resolves the volume issue. However turning it off also disables 'Web Protection' in Bitdefender. At the moment Web Protection is turned on for the Chrome browser.
I think this is a bug that Bitdefender need to address. Anyone else experiencing this issue?
Thank you. Looking forward to reading any replies.
Alicia.

I have the same issue on my OnePLus 5T.
I had a case opened with oneplus customer support team and they were not aware about this third-party applications being able to do this.
I observed also other apps are doing the same thing, like LastPASS.
Here is a more detailed description from oneplus forums: https://forums.oneplus.com/threads/volume-slider-stuck-on-screen-after-volume-change.879024/
Is there anything bit-defender can do to fix this?
If I disable the accessibility service for the app the problem goes away.0 -

So you might have the deep clean feature activated, which disables the app accessibility setttings.
Note that if i do the same thing on my phone the issue is resolved for me too (but as /index.php?/profile/214252-aliciac15/&do=hovercard&referrer=https%253A%252F%252Fforum.bitdefender.com%252Findex.php%253F%252Ftopic%252F79253-android-volume-banner-timeout%252F%2526tab%253Dcomments" href="<___base_url___>/index.php?/profile/214252-aliciac15/" style="background-color:transparent;color:inherit;" title="Go to AliciaC15's profile" rel="">AliciaC15 mentioned, the protection is disabled in that case)0 -
Hi Marius@1412!
Thanks for your replies. Unfortunately, like you, I've not been able to find a solution to this issue, other than to disable protection or uninstall BitDefender.
I'm hoping a future update of the BitDefender app will fix this issue. But hope is all I have!
Thanks!

Hi,
This is an Android bug, and it also occurs for other applications that require Accessibility permissions. You can turn off the permission, but this will cause the web protection to stop functioning unfortunately.0
