access to hp officejet 8710 blocked on lan

hi, bitdefender (+ firefox) are blocking me to access the web page of my hp officejet 8710. i have a 8720 with no problem. for both printers, i did add their (fixed) ip in the exception list.

the exact message is :

bit defender has blocked this page

Your connection to this website is not safe due to untrusted certificate and was blocked. ....


probably the certificate of the 8710 is self-signed or is out of date. both printers are on same lan.

MOST strange, using edge, i have access. so the problem might be on bd plug-in for firefox ??

    update on previous comment : with edge i am also blocked as soon as i switch from http to https.

    i understand the free version is stripped, but it seems you stripped the latest version a bit too much

    otherwise, good product not too invasive with 'upgrade' pop-ups
