The answer to your problem from the Bitdefender support center is:
Bitdefender Central – Internet Explorer 11 browser not supported
As technologies evolve, Microsoft will end support for Internet Explorer 11 in 2021. This means that Internet Explorer 11 will no longer receive security updates, becoming an obsolete web browser with exposed vulnerabilities.
Microsoft and Bitdefender share a commitment to excellence in computer security. As a result, Bitdefender Central support ended for Internet Explorer 11. This browser is not compatible with Central.
If you are using Internet Explorer 11 or earlier to access https://central.bitdefender.com you may experience total or partial loss of functionality of our website.
If you are among those affected, we recommend installing the new Microsoft Edge browser for the best user experience on Windows 10, 8, and 7. Or switch to another secure web browser such as: Mozilla Firefox, Google Chrome, etc.

Well, but I have Edge, Mozilla, Chrome installed.. why Bitdefender chooses to use IE, even if it is not supported and other browsers are installed??

Basically the question is how am I supposed to log in the Bitdefender account through the Bitdefender App to activate Total Security, if it stuck in using IE, yet it complains that IE is outdated and does not use one of the other browsers present.
Is there a way to somehow change the preferred browser of bitdefender?

launch any other browser open the Bitdefender central page - https://login.bitdefender.com/central/login.html?lang=en_US&redirect_url=https:%2F%2Fcentral.bitdefender.com%2F
Log in to your account or register your account
In the properties of the browser that you would prefer to set the option to use this browser as default

You rightly noticed that this is a really strange approach, the browser is no longer supported, but at the same time it is to offer this particular browser. You also need it to install an antivirus.

The problem though is that after installing bitdefender, I have to log in through the Bitdefender App for it to be activated, not through any browser..
I dont have a problem logging in my account with Mozilla/Chrome, but the Bidefender App for Total Security is stuck asking for IE, which even if it finds, says is no longer supported.
So, as in my previous question, how am I supposed to log in the Bitdefender account through the Bitdefender App to activate Total Security, if it stuck in using IE?

Using any browser, go to Bitdefender Central: https://central.bitdefender.com/ and sign in. If you don't have an account, select create an account.
Bitdefender Support Center Help will help you: https://www.bitdefender.com/consumer/support/answer/1715/

I think there is a serious misunderstanding.. logging into my account over the browser does nothing for activating the locally installed the Bitdefender App.
As shown below, I can access the bitdefender account through a browser in general (left), but the local Bitdefender App cannot be activated because it stays stuck to IE (shown right). @Alex_A not sure if you are tech support or you are aware of how the software works, but to activate a local installation you need to log in through the App, not any browser (if it was through the browser there wouldn't be any discussion).
So, I will repeat again the question as still is not answered, how am I supposed to log in the Bitdefender account through the Bitdefender App to activate Total Security, if it stuck in using IE?

No, I'm not from Bitdefender technical support, I advise you in this case to contact the Bitdefender technical support direct chat - https://secure.livechatinc.com/licence/6748731/v2/open_chat.cgi?groups=19
You can make a written request to bitdefender support at bitsy@bitdefender.com and they will reply to you as soon as possible.

Hi, did you already get a solution? I came across the same problem 😕 If I knew it would be like this, I would not link my google account to bitdefender. Already paid the subscription but can not activate the installed app...

Hello @fadel_77 ,
Did you try any of the steps discussed above? I'm using at home also Windows 7 and I had to update it fully before being able to install Bitdefender Total Security.
cheers,
Mike

Hi All,
I solved this problem on my Windows 7 (Yes I still use it!) by going to this page and downloading the IE11 version for my Windows 7 64bit version (32bit is also there), and after installing IE11 and restarting the PC, all worked! Bitdefender showed me the login page in its window instead of the dreaded "Your browser is not suppoerted" message!
Here is the page where you can choose and downlaod your IE11 version:
https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/internet-explorer
I hope this help!
