High CPU, Power Usage
![WWJ](https://community.bitdefender.com/applications/dashboard/design/images/defaulticon.png)
Windows 10 Home, v.21H2, Build 19044.1889
Bitdefender Total Security, Build 26.0.25.84
Since the latest update, Bitdefender Total Security, Build 26.0.25.84, I've been hearing my fan run high. Checking Task Manager I see the "bdservicehost" process running constantly at 20-25% CPU usage, at the LEAST, occasionally greater, which means a steadily greater power consumption, and that translates into a significantly shortened battery charge period. Anyone else having this experience? Any fix in the works? Thanks.

Hi @WWJ
There seems to be an issue with the latest update, including with myself. Please see Alexandru's suggestion to contact support from this thread:
Thank you,
Scott

@Scott Yes, that seems to have worked for me, too. A bit of clarification, though.
In Programs and Features, after selecting Bitdefender Total Security > Uninstall, it was sufficient for me to perform just a reinstall (operation on left) rather than the uninstall and install:
After the reboot, the installer downloaded the program, itself. I didn't need to do so manually from Bitdefender Central. The build I now have running is 26.0.23.80.
Thanks for your help! 👍️
@gfmock bdservicehost process now back to nominally <0.5% CPU and very low power usage:
Nice to have a quiet computer back again. ☺️😴

Thank you for posting back your results, I'm glad it helped 😊
Also, that it could be done from a Windows reinstall. Good information, WWJ 😊

I observe the same issue!!! I wasn't able to disable automated update to build 26.0.25.84. I had to uninstall antivir. :-(

@elstaqub thank you for the notifications you posted in other threads, as we also had another member confirm it here: https://community.bitdefender.com/en/discussion/comment/315357/#Comment_315357
Edit: Just a reminder, BD releases its updates in staged rollouts. So your region may have this update ready to download, or it may be 2-3 days later, depending on where you're at. In the central US location, my updates arrive about 1 week later after the first mention of the update occurring. Updates can also be tracked here:
