  • i ran full scan, and the yahoo hijack did not come up listed. as the guide in bitdefender link indicates??? hoping i dont have to do this manually??

    "If you use a cybersecurity solution, there’s not much left to do. A simple scan will reveal all suspicious files and programs which you can then delete with a single click. Security solutions also give users the option to disable adware detection, but this isn’t necessarily a good idea if you want complete network protection."

    @Steeeve H ,

    Welcome to the Bitdefender Forums. Yahoo Redirect is not a virus. It is a browser hijacker, classified as a "PUP" (Potentially Unwanted Program). Bitdefender is not designed to target browser extensions that were installed knowingly or unknowingly by the user.

    If it were my computer, I would download * * * Malwarebytes Free * * *and do a manual scan. Note that despite the advertising, Malwarebytes is not a genuine anti-virus program, but it does specialize in "nuisance ware" identification and removal, like browser hijackers. If that doesn't remove it, try AdwCleaner, available on the same page at the bottom.

    Please note that I do not work for Bitdefender or Malwarebytes. This is my personal only, and does not reflect the official stance of Bitdefender.

    I hope this helps. Good luck, and have a great day.

    Regards,
    Phil
