Can I prevent uninstallation of Bitdefender? If so how?

I'm making a trial installation of Bitdefender, which I only need for the purpose of locking apps in the event of theft. I just clicked Uninstall as you would for any app, and it uninstalled at once, just like any app. Can I prevent Uninstall? - without it a thief could just uninstall and protection is lost.

For example, parental control programs can't be uninstalled, so it must be possible, but how?

  • Hello @Andy3142,

On Android devices, you can take several steps to prevent Mobile Security from being uninstalled and ensure that its anti-theft features remain effective. First, grant Bitdefender Device Administrator access. This permission prevents the app from being uninstalled without first revoking its admin privileges.

    • Open Bitdefender Mobile Security
    • Go to Settings > Antitheft > Device Administrator
    • Follow the prompts to enable Device Administrator for Mobile Security
    • Then, you can enable password protection within the Mobile Secuirity app to prevent unauthorized changes or uninstallation.
    • Open Bitdefender Mobile Security
    • Go to Settings > PIN Protection
    • Set up a strong PIN that will be required to access the app’s settings

Let us know if this is what you are looking for.

  • @Alexandru_BD, I have no such links. I've got

Settings > Antitheft > Security PIN code

    but I've not got

Settings > Antitheft > Device Administrator or

    Settings > PIN Protection

  • Ok, I guess it also depends on the phone model. Setting the PIN code for Anti-theft should do the trick.

    Hello.

Open your Bitdefender Mobile Security for Android, go to "More", in the new opened menu click on your account (your name and e-mail) and then click on "Uninstall Bitdefender Mobile Security".

A new pop-up window will open with text "Enter PIN to confirm".

And that PIN is actually the PIN you already set for the "App Lock" module, during the installation of the app on your phone.

Without entering the PIN, it is impossible to uninstall the app.

    Regards.
