Vulnerability scan - 2 results instead of 1

Hi!

This is my first post here. I came across a problem. I ran a test to find a vulnerability and the program returned information that two vulnerabilities were found but ultimately it only displayed one (no password to the computer). Now I noticed that I cut off the "networks" tab but believe me it was empty.

What could be the problem? Is it possible that some malware has hidden itself and added itself to the exceptions?

  • I have another question, I don't know if I can ask it in the same thread. Sorry for the foreign language in the screenshots.

I started the system in safe mode to scan the system with Bitdefender. But when I try to start the program, it returns the error: "Communication failure. Could not initiate communication with Bitdefender App...". I tried again but still without success. They suggested restarting or contacting support.

Could this also be related to the previous problem, where the malware blocks access to the antivirus? Bitdefender works in normal mode but does not detect threats.

I don't think is about some malware. What we display is whatever we could gather, so either we get data (number of items per category), or not. Most likely you hit a bug, but I cannot say is a simple incorrect increment of number of items, or is an item that was excluded or could not be added to the UI after it was added to the category.

We will try to reproduce the issue, but in the meanwhile, can you detail, if possible, what kind of Windows and/or Microsoft accounts are present on that computer? Since this is sensitive data, you can direct message me or one or the other Bitdefender colleagues, or, even better,, open a support ticket.

About the 'not communicating to Bitdefender App', this looks like an I/O communication error. The backend (services, scanners etc., residing in bdservicehost with "shield" and "aux") communicates to the user interface which resides in the application service (bdservicehost with "app" in command line), and this communication is broken. A most common cause is the application service is not running. Again, I suggest you to open a ticket so we can see the logs, status etc. and figure out what can be the problem.

hello, at the vulnerability scan with 2 issues detected, I see that the scanner has a scroll bar, can you check if there is something detected on Network part (I believe in you language is SIEC) ?
