Bitdefender causing my ip to be blocked

Hi,

I installed Total Security on my windows laptop and apple phone, since I did my website and emails keep going offline because my ip keeps being blocked by my hosting company.

I have gone through everything it could be with my hosting - siteground - and the only thing left is bitdefender which is when this all started.
Why would that be happening and how do I stop it as I am losing business with my website going offline constantly.

    Did your hosting company provide any possible reasons as to why your IP is blocked? Since you said, I quote:

    What was their opinion on this and how did you come to the conclusion that Bitdefender might be blocking it?

    Also, are you actively using a VPN by any chance?

    Thanks for responding.

    We went through DNS records, passwords and a couple of other things, everything was how it was supposed to be, the only thing that was different was I had installed Bitdefender and I've had troubles since then.

    The blocking of my ip seems to come from my emails trying to connect incorrectly and after a certain amount of incorrect attempts they block my ip. Not sure if it is my devices which are apple, or my laptop which is windows.

    I turned the Bitdefender firewall off and it stopped. I turned it on and I am now getting the same ip blocked issue.

    Can you let me know what I need to do as this is taking my website offline as well which means I am losing leads.

    Good job, so now we know it's the firewall that was causing this. I think you can set up a rule for the firewall. Check the below articles for instructions:
