What are the differences between Bitdefender Password Manager and Bitdefender Secure Pass ?

I've seen this new function,could you explain what changes from Bitdefender Password Manager ?

From what I've readed on the docs it seems to me that one is the presence of a web version for the first,apart from this,which are the differences?Should I change from Bitdefender Password Manager to Secure Pass ?

Plus if I'll choose to use Secure Pass,then I'll have to change my actual Master Password used on Bitdefender Password Manager ?

According to this post, you will need to change it. Maybe if you're used to your PM password, you can add some additional numbers or letters that will help you to remember it, and meet the need of SecurePass?

Yes, the Master Password from Password Manager will not work with SecurePass.

Thanks for that confirmation.

So for those who may have a hard time in remembering a more bullet proof SecurePass password, how would you go about remembering it and entering it into SecurePass? If you're at home and know it's a safe environment to have it on piece paper and type it in? Or, copy it into a word type of doc, encrypting it using the Password Manager password that may have been more easily remembered, and copy and paste it from there?

I think maybe it can be kept somewhere encrypted? 🙄 Obviously, the ideal way would be to memorize it, but hey, we all know that this doesn't work all the time, especially if a password is highly complex..

You can go oldschool with pen and paper and keep it in a safe. But then you would still have to remember the combination of the vault. See where I'm getting here? 😂

Yep, agree. It can become a cat and mouse thing. I suppose on a home PC a person could use a more easily remembered password for a encrypted document, or just have it on paper. But the harder challenge is what about on a smartphone in remembering it from there? You wouldn't want to compromise it there, with a device that could more easily be lost or stolen, so that's where the more secure SecurePass password would pay off :)

@Gjoksi, @Alexandru_BD , @Scott I've readed your arcticles but from what I've seen in the first one Bitdefender Password Manager have more functions (apart the one to create folders,the sharing functionalities and the aspect to have a Website ..the last one is more useful in my opinion),what are your advices in terms of security upload to it or not (consider that I'm using like main browser Opera and it seems to me that it isn't supported for it) ?

Additionally, If you ask me what I will do, I plan to stay with the Bitdefender Password Manager until it is discontinued. Once it is completely phased out, I will switch to Bitdefender SecurePass. The reason I am not switching to Bitdefender SecurePass immediately is due to its ongoing development changes and its current lack of features compared to the Bitdefender Password Manager.

Unfortunately I must agree with your approach re staying with Password Manager.

I've tried SecurePass for admittedly only a few days and have reverted to Password Manager.

SecurePass feels like a late alpha level development that's almost ready for beta testing. The interface is so klunky I honestly think it needs to be sent to some usability experts for a redesign.

I was stunned that migration from Password Manager does not involve just entering the master password and then watching everything automatically migrate.

I don't need the new features that have been added. I do need the features that have been dropped.

The long, complex master password requirement has to be replaced by something else. Maybe drop the password requirement entirely and link access to biometrics on the user's phone?

The differences between accounts and records within the vault after migrating is just bizarre. I can edit an account but it doesn't reflect in the corresponding vault record. Someone is going to point out some misunderstanding I have about how that vault works, I suppose, but if I can get confused about what appear to be multiple records for the same web site then it's a usability fail.

Autofill works…sometimes. On Password Manager it used to autofill automatically and (mostly) flawlessly.
