Application Failed To Start

Hello! I recently purchased and downloaded BitDefender 2010 and when I run it I receive the message that this application has failed to start because its "side-by-side configuration is incorrect. Please see the application event log for more detail".
I run Vista 32bit and I have searched through the forums and found similar topics. However, those topics direct one to the repair tool which I do not have anywhere in my BitDefender files.
