I Purchased BitDefender Total Security 2010 software on 8-26-2010 at a local Office Depot and had nothing but problems. Upgraded to BitDefender Total Security 2011 and my problems went unresolved, and system performance actually got worse.
Downloaded and installed TeamViewer as requested...and nothing was ever done
Customer Care is the worst I have ever talked to ....more in defense of their product than helping a customer
Have since installed another anti-virus / firewall .....PROBLEMS FIXED
I just flushed $89.99 down the toilet ....this software should not be sold to the publi,c until the issues are addressed and fixed ...otherwise, it is nothing more than a money pit

First off, I can't really express in words how angry I am. If I posted what I really felt, I'm sure my post would be removed immediately, so I'll try to keep it reasonably clean and professional.
I couldn't agree more. My story sounds almost the same as yours. I paid $80 plus tax for a two year license and now I have a box collecting dust on my shelf for two years that cost me almost $90. I’ve had absolutely now response from BitDefender (BD) after three tries. The stuff is total garbage. I've never seen such a resource hog in my life. What’s the point in having anti-virus and firewall if nothing else will run on you machine including IE and anything else that uses a network connection. It also crashes a ton of my other programs too, everything from games to email software. My machine is almost new with a more than capable processor and lots of ram, and now it runs like an old Pentium on windows 3.1. You know, you start your email and then go away and grab a cup of coffee and cut the grass and then come back to find it's got three of your email accounts and then had a timed-out error. So you have to keep doing it over and over again to get all your accounts. ... WHAT A PILE OF CRAP!!!
I chose it because of some good reviews, but didn't notice until after I had dumped my money down the toilet that the review site that listed BD as #1 didn't have any customer reviews or a forum. I guess they must be getting a kickback from BD or maybe the site is owned by BD. And unfortunately I was not able to find these forums until after my mistake of buying BD. I feel I've been totally scammed by an internet scam artist. This company is the worst I've ever dealt with over the internet. Their product is like buying a TV over the internet and then when it comes you find out it's wired for the UK. It might work for somebody but it's totally useless to you and once you've paid your money they don't want to ever hear from you again!0 -

I too feel that BitDefender's customer support is lacking. I had some problems in the past, but nothing really helped. But then I found the forum. Everyone here has been very helpful... See this testimonial here.
DanyDan has been more of help to me than customer service ever could. Shame I didn't know about the forums before this.
PS to DanyDan... Talk to someone at BitDefender about better customer support. You have a fine product here, and it'd be a shame if anyone leaves because of customer support. I'd been a fan of Norton Internet Security for ages, but lately they've been a real hog on the resources. Then my brother & I were talking and he's loved your product for about 4 years now, and talked me into checking it out. Unless something disastrous happens, you'll have to throw me out to get rid of me! (And if you're wondering DanyDan hasn't paid me a penny to say that, though I won't turn him down if he does!)

Dune Finkleberry: Thank you for the kind words. I may not be the smartest kid on the block (to quote one of our users ) but I am aware that no security product can work flawlessly on ALL PCs. That is due to the large versions of drivers and PC configurations. However I also believe that no matter the issue, anything can be resolved: faster or slower but it can be resolved with enough patience and knowledge.
