Real-time Protection Is Disabled
Received this issue notice and cannot enable via fix all issues. Windows 7 32bit machine and just installed 2011 after uninstalling 2010. BitDefender was working ok for a few days. Ran the support tool and have the file ready to submit. Please advise on next step to take. The tray icon indicates that "bitdefender services are loading now", please wait. This has been a constant for the last day.

EricCartman - first, welcome to the forum
Depending on whether or not you disconnected from the internet when you ran the Supporttool, you may be able to skip ahead to step 8 in the procedure below to submit the files for investigation.
1. First please unplug the Internet cable from your computer or disable the Wireless adaptor if you are using one. This prevents the supporttools files from being automatically uploaded.
2. Click on Start and then choose My Computer/Computer.
3. Browse to:
C:\Program Files\BitDefender\BitDefender 2011
- considering that BitDefender was installed on the default C partition
4. Double-click on the supporttool.exe file - if you are using Vista or Windows 7, right-click on the supporttool application file and select Run as Administrator
5. Click on Next, wait a few minutes for the progress bar to complete and then click on Finish
6. A file will be created on your desktop. Please move it to a location of your choice (i.e. move it on your c:\ drive)
7. Reconnect your internet cable (only after you have moved the file to the new location)
8. Upload the created file HERE
9. Include a detailed description of the issue you are encountering and a screenshot of the error message, if there is one.
10. Send a PM (Private Message) with the download link to DanyDan of tech support. Include a link to this topic and give him as much detail as possible about this particular PC - exact symptoms, hardware (CPU type/speed, Memory installed, etc.), OS and version, 32-bit or 64-bit, any other security software installed or previously uninstalled. Any other relevant configuration information.
It may take several days for them to analyze the files and respond depending on their workload, so please be patient.

Hello,
If you still have the Services not responding please follow the steps below:
1. Click on START then go to Run
2. Type services.msc and hit ENTER
3. In the new window search for the service:
- BitDefender Virus Shield
4. Double click on the entry and make sure you have the Startup type to Automatic
5. The Service Status should be on: Started. If it's Stopped click on the START button then wait few moments for the service to load.
6. Restart the PC and see if the issue still occur.
If the services are responding without following the steps above please let me know.
Looking forward to your answer!0 -
Checked services and Bitdefender Virus Shield was set to automatic and was started. My problem seems to have gone away though. This is what I did prior to the problem being resolved. I did a complete shutdown and reboot. Upon reboot completion I still had the real time protection disabled message. I unchecked the real time protection box(yes, although the program said it was disabled the box was checked) and told the program to disable for 1 hour. I then restarted the PC and this time the message was not present. The message has not reappeared for 4 days so I think all is well again. Thanks DanyDan for your help.
