Bitdefender 2011 Blocking Websites

Options

Hello!

I have a new computer, Windows 7, 64bit, Bitdefender 2011... Bitdefender is blocking websites like www.google.com and www.bidclerk.com - the error message I get is "BitDefender 2011

This web page has been blocked by BitDefender Antivirus Real-time Protection!

The web page blocked by BitDefender included objects that were either infected or likely to be infected with a virus. Your system has NOT been infected."

What can I try?

  • I have the same thing with some of my customers whom I've installed the BitDefender AV 2011 on. It is becoming very annoying and seems like a BitDefender update makes sites blocked now. Please help ASAP!

Bitdefender keeps blocking every site once in a while and I can't even disable that security feature.

  • me too still having the issue all is up to date. I get the same message warning. But now today it is worse, I get into my hotmail or yahoo accounts at all, this was the only site I could log into this afternoon. I run both firefox, most updated version and IE8 it is getting extremely annoying. This has been the worse bitdefender for bugs I have ever ran. About to look at going back to version 10, it had no issues like this.

  • I just did a Live Chat with Bitdefender about this same issue. Here is what they told me to do:

Open Bitdefender, in the upper right, choose Options - Expert View

Then choose the Antivirus Tab on the left hand side.

    Click on Custom Level

Uncheck Scan Web (HTTP) Traffic, Scan Yahoo Messenger Traffic, & Scan Windows Live Messenger Traffic.

So far, I haven't had the error pop up anymore. It's only been about 15 minutes since the change, so I am not positive that this fixes the problem, but hope this helps!

  • I just reported the same problem and message with BitDefender blocking websites that I use all the time. Google, for crying out loud! Just like you.

I sent a message to BitDefender on their site and the interim reply was that they would get back to me within 48 hours! I am going on my 3rd year with BitDefender and have never had a problem like this.

I also have Windows 7, 64-bit. Even when I try to link in to my Yahoo email acount I get that dreadful message. I am so frustrated and so far behind in my work. Where do we go from here, BitDefender?

  • Hello,

Patrick have you read my comment above ? Please post in THIS POST as it will help me keep track of the sites and resolve them.

Also, is this the EXACT link blocked: http://www.usairways.com ? Or is it http://usairways.com ? Have you tried the resolution I posted ? What browser are you using ?
