Same problem here. Notifications hasn't recorded any database updates since June 12, even after I forced several manual updates. Tech support asked me several questions that I had already answered, made me send them a log, and finally just offered the usual one-size-fits-all suggestion of reinstalling Bitdefender.

I have Bitdefender 2020 and I still don't see any option to enable two-factor authentication.
-
I'll give that a try. Many thanks.

Thanks for the reply. My experience is that the scans still do slow down my system. But even if they didn't, that begs the question, which is why should a scan of new/changed files take more than 3 hours?
-
cee_naa: How do you know this? Is it posted somewhere that I missed?
-
Case in point: I just restarted a few days ago because of an update that allegedly required doing so. And now today -- ANOTHER prompt for a restart. Again, no information at all has been supplied about either update so that users can decide for themselves whether it's worth the trouble to restart. (Separately, one has to…

How about a changelog for .242, released today? Also, why are we forced to restart our computers for updates where "nothing major [is] changed/added"?
-
Attention Windows 8 users: I disabled the three Bitdefender features suggested by moshen.a540 (above) before trying again to download and install the Windows update we've been discussing. It worked. This would seem to prove that the problem here is indeed with Bitdefender and not with Windows. And also that it's not…

Glad to hear BD is finally acknowledging its role after expressly denying this. But is it really necessary to go uninstall the entire program rather than temporarily disabling it?
-
I managed to install the other two "important" Windows updates waiting for my Windows 8 machine that I mentioned in my last message - .NET Framework and Adobe Flash - by selecting them individually. But when I then tried again to install KB4056895, it again failed at the end. Has anyone tried to disable Bitdefender…
-
In addition to KB4056895, my system is also repeatedly failing to install update KB4056887 (for Adobe Flash) and KB 4033369 (.NET Framework). All I can find online on the topic is specific to AMD machines and Windows 10, neither of which applies to me. Are we *sure* Bitdefender doesn't play a role here?
-
I ran Microsoft's Update Troubleshooter tool. It indicated that all three identified problems had been fixed. I then tried again to install the latest updates -- and once again they failed. Another commenter on this thread says DISM didn't solve the problem either.
-
I think the question is whether (and when) Bitdefender will issue a patch to accommodate the Windows update so it can install properly
-
Something about "fatal error." Didn't copy it down in time. Is it really worth going through the download, attempted installation, and restart for a third time in order to snag it?
-
I've restarted since the latest BD update was installed (22.0.17.209), then tried a manual update for good measure. Despite this, the latest Windows Update (KB4056895) failed twice. I'm running Windows 8.

It just happened again, for the second time in a few days. I restarted my computer and got a warning from BD. Sure enough, Automatic Update had been disabled again.
-
Thanks for your reply. I'm afraid I don't know exactly when it occurs because I don't regularly check the settings. I might just notice a warning that BD hasn't been updated lately, so I'll go into the dashboard and notice that it's no longer set to update automatically. Or every few weeks I'll look around and say, "Wait a…

Another example: I disable the Antispam feature and it keeps turning itself back on.
-
Disappointing that the latest update (apparently significant enough to require a manual restart) didn't address this bug. Quick scans still aren't quick.
-
This is exactly the issue I was about to report. "Quick" scans now take ~ 15 minutes instead of 1-2. Is Bitdefender uploading files rather than scanning them on my computer? Would appreciate an update about when a fix is expected.

Your customer is lucky to have you researching for him. It took me quite some time to figure out that Firefox was blocking just about every website because of a setting in Bitdefender! Now comes the easy part: changing the setting. On the main BD page, click on View Features. Then click on the settings (gear) icon under…

Here's what I'm seeing on just about every site -- and regardless of Firefox profile:
-
This is happening to me, too - only on Firefox, not on Chrome. I get an error message saying my connection isn't secure on virtually every website, including Wikipedia, Netflix, my bank, etc. And the Firefox site says the problem may be "security software scanning encrypted connections." I just hope this isn't another…

I was the original poster here last year, and there are now a couple of other threads on this same topic -- even though someone authoritatively assured us awhile back that one of the umpteen updates had taken care of the problem. In the last few weeks alone, I've been prompted to restart my system at least four times. Can…
-
Once again, I'm being told there's a new update that requires restarting my system. Is this one for real?
-
Thanks. The latest changelog wasn't posted at the time users were prompted to restart.
-
Thanks. And this new build really does require a restart? Going forward, it would be helpful to be able to check on updates somewhere on the site without having to ask in the forum. Is that information available?
-
As the O.P. on this thread, I was beginning to think the problem was solved with the last revision of BIS. Since updating, I haven't been nagged to restart . . .until today. Not sure, though, whether this time there really is a new update that requires restarting. Is there a page somewhere on the BD website that lists the…

Ah - "Notifications." Got it. Thanks.

Worth a try. Thanks. But -- sorry -- where is "events"?
