DAF44, you didn't read my 1st post, did you? Well, yes and no. Sorry about that. I did miss that you had already disabled the early boot scan but I did make the point that it will bring the BD induced boot delay within "an acceptable range". In other words, if you have done everything mentioned in the tread, I think that's…
-
To solve your boot delay issue, make sure you have the latest build (18.19.0.1369) and then: Open Bitdefender and go to Protection -> Antivirus -> Shield tab -> Custom -> Miscellaneous tab -> Uncheck: Early boot scan -> click OK to confirm That will bring the boot delay back within an acceptable range.

Hi DAFF44..how are things in warm sunny Florida? Today's high, 3f, tonight's low, -11f ^ Well Columbo, you asked for it: Today 73F, Tonight 61F! And thank you for supporting one of my wishes. As I said, you can always dream. Stay warm my friend!

The solution for the black screen at boot is now available in the latest build number 18.19.0.1345. Open Bitdefender and go to Protection -> Antivirus -> Shield tab -> Modify -> Miscellaneous tab -> uncheck: Early boot scan -> click OK to confirm A Windows restart is required. It works!!! Thank you, thank you!

If 18.19.0.1345 is supposed to be the fix, it doesn't work. Still 3 minutes of black screen and occasional system freeze. One of Windows 8/8.1 best liked features is the fast start and shutdown. Since BD is advertised as fully compatible with Win 8/8.1, I never expected it to cripple any Windows feature especially the fast…

What I do is to just use Windows utility for the uninstall and Ccleaner. Just to get rid of those stubborn directories that cannot be deleted. The registry entries as well. This is what I normally do: 1) Windows Control Panel Uninstall, 2) Reboot, 3) BD Removal Tool, 4) Reboot, 5) CCleaner, 6) Reboot, 7) CCleaner again.…

Hiya, As far as I am aware a dedicated uninstall tool is already built in by going to Control Panel>Programs and Features>Bitdefender 2015>Uninstall. I have used it a couple of times in both Win 7 and Win 8.1 without problems. Ro. Most software are notorious for all the "junk" they leave behind after removal. AntiVirus…

Yes, BDWTXAPPS.EXE is no longer running but BDWTXAG.EXE is still running. Keep trying. Thanks, Leighton This is how I see it: BD users complain that Wallet services keep running after the Wallet feature/module has been turned off. BD developers take note and, when given the opportunity, open the BD hood/bonnet and begin…
-
For you The BD version works bdtwapps.exe is disabled when wallet is always disabled(for me). Kindly explain! Your graphic shows that bdwtxag.exe (Bitdefender Wallet Agent) is still running!

Lost the edit post function as I left the forum and rebooted. Disabling the Yahoo box makes no difference, so it isn't that. Thank you, Rohugh! Back to the drawing board for the BD developers. You would assume that with a simple test, like we did, they would have discovered that it still doesn't work before going public!
-
Observation: Since Georgia states that Apps need to be disabled, I've noticed that in my case (and also Rohugh's) there are apps that are greyed out (not installed) but the Wallet icon shows the box checked. You can see it in Rohugh's graphic for the Yahoo app. Would this have anything to do for the process to still run?
-
Hiya, Disabled and still running. Same here!
-
As I said, this issue is just bad code writing by BD's developers. And Charly1954, this forum is notorious for the missing BD support techs. If it were not for the dedicated users with significant BD knowledge like Rohugh, I would have gone elsewhere by now.
-
19 views and no replies. So I guess none of the features I mentioned can be disabled. BD needs to let buyers decide what runs and what is disabled. I also noticed in processes that Wallet Aps Agent is running, gessssss.....Tried to end that and lust like BD wallet agent it won't end....Neither of these are in services or…

We will know the changes in the new build eventually, someday, in due time, be patient.

Some things never change at Bitdefender support. We will know the changes in the new build eventually, someday, in due time, be patient.

The Game profile in BD 2015 disables the Windows auto update function among other changes. I have noticed that when BIS 2015 switches to Game profile when I open my Mail Client and Windows auto update is disabled, the BD 2015 Windows Vulnerability module reports this as an event and gives a warning about it. It looks like…
-
For what it's worth, I was successful in uninstalling BIS 2015 using the current BD uninstall tool: http://www.bitdefender.com/files/Knowledge...installTool.exe
-
BIS 2015 changes to the Game profile when I open my mail client (eM Client). Please Bitdefender, a mail client is not a game! Is there a way to whitelist applications for the Profiles module?

Hello alphalobo1, The behaviour you indicate is a FaD (functions as designed). Please be informed that it's normal for the Bitdefender on-access scanning to change the settings to custom while performing a scan. This happens because the scan can not start on a file that is already scanned by the on-access scanning. Please…

Thanks ONT! After the "infected" event BD offered to re-start the computer to finish the clean up. Windows 8 did not do a full re-start for this but there was a black screen dialog from BD showing a success message and then Windows went back to the desktop normally. This probably was the Windows 8 way for off-line cleanup.…

My Bitdefender Internet Security 2013 has 350 days of Licence left. I was using Windows 7 Home Premium in my Laptop. But Today I bought Windows 8 Pro for my same laptop. My Question is to you that... If I install my Bitdefender Internet Security 2013 in my new Windows 8 Pro in my same laptop will it ok? Or I may have…
-
If you are running Windows 8, then Bitdefender Windows 8 Security is what you should use. Internet Security 2013 is compatible with Windows 8 but it does not take full advantage of the new security architecture in Windows 8. The firewall functionality is the same. You can read more about this here:…

Please, a friend of mine had done successive installations of Bit Defender on top of older installations from the CD ROMs she had purchased, culminating in the latest installation of BD 2013. When she had problems opening BD from the desktop icon (which tried to open BD 2012), I deleted it for her and deleted the older BD…

Just upgraded my 2 Win 8 machines to Bitdefender Windows 8 Security, very nice! Congratulations Bitdefender on a well thought out Windows 8 product!
-
Bitdefender released Windows 8 Security with ELAM, Modern UI App and some extra features. What about Bitdefender Internet Security users? Can we expect upgrade giving the same features? Can we upgrade to Win8 Security? I see that new product is more expensive than Internet Security.…

I have just recently upgraded to windows 8, and updated my bitdefender to 2013. The only odd thing that I have noticed is that when the autoscan starts, as normal the scanning icon shows up in the task tray, and the info bubble appears saying to see progress to click the icon. The odd part is, that as soon as I move my…
