BUG ALERT! MasterCook Sync on my PC does not work unless I uninstall BITDEFENDER
I put mastercook.exe and its sync app in the exceptions for the firewall, I'm not using the VPN. According to the MasterCook folk and the BitDefender articles, this should all those 2 apps to penetrate my firewall, I turned off my firewall, and it is still not working. I uninstall BITDEFENDER and the application works fine.
Does anyone have any suggestions? I think there is a bug in BitDefender

Hello @danhe2000
Besides the firewall exceptions you added, I would try enabling BD firewall Alert mode. From Protection/Firewall settings/Settings/Alert mode. Restart your PC and try that software again and see if you get an outbound connect prompt to allow.
Alert mode
(former Paranoid Mode) – alerts are shown each time an app tries to connect to the internet. Select Allow or Block. When Alert mode is turned on, the Profiles feature is automatically switched off. Alert mode can be used simultaneously with Battery Mode.
If needed, I would also try adding mastercooke.exe into Advanced Threat Defense Exceptions, as it will accept .exe files into Exceptions.
Also, try adding the file and folder of that app into Antivirus Exceptions.
When adding the Exceptions into both ATD and Antivirus, disable those modules first, add the exceptions, then re-enable the modules, restart your PC and see if that resolves it for you.
Otherwise, I would contact support from here:
Select, How Tos & Troubleshooting→Troubleshooting and go through the prompts until you get to the black Contact Support box. You will have the the options of Chat, Call or Email. Chat is the quickest way to get thing started, phone support is not toll-free.
Kind regards
