Detected GT:JS.RogerDldr.1.8520776B in Firefox. Vírus?

Hello, good evening everyone. I had Brave, Firefox and Chrome open when this message appeared. Is this malware? Is it dangerous? BitDefender deleted it. I did a complete computer cleanup, at the end of the cleanup it detected it again and, this time, I deleted it. See the screenshots.

1- I did a complete analysis with Bitdefender.

2- I did the cleanup with "adwcleaner".

3- I did another cleanup with "HouseCall by TendMicro".

Is there anything else I can do?

Note 1: I will buy Malwarebytes, but when I have the money 😇

Note 2: I don't use cracked programs, just to be clear. Everything I have was paid for.😊🤑

Note 3: I run my antivirus every week (I've run it every day 🤯) and clear my history every week. I use Antitracker, TrafficLight and Ublock Origin in my browsers.

To resolve the issue, you can try resetting Firefox to its default settings and clearing your temporary files. Follow the steps below:

    1) Reset Mozilla Firefox: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/refresh-firefox-reset-add-ons-and-settings

    2) Open the Run command and execute the following commands one by one:

temp – delete all the files in the folder.

%temp% – delete all the files in the folder.

prefetch – delete all the files in the folder.

    3) Run Disk Cleanup using this guide: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/disk-cleanup-in-windows-8a96ff42-5751-39ad-23d6-434b4d5b9a68

Before proceeding with the steps mentioned above, kindly check the file on VirusTotal.com to see if any other vendors are detecting it. If the file is only detected by Bitdefender and other vendors that use its engine, it may be a false positive. On VirusTotal, you'll see the same detection name under other vendors that use Bitdefender's engine. Additionally, check if other antimalware vendors, such as Avast, ESET, Kaspersky, Norton, Microsoft Defender, and Trend Micro, are detecting the file. If none of these vendors detect it, the file might be a false positive and may require further investigation by the Bitdefender malware research team.

If you believe that a website or file has been incorrectly blocked by Bitdefender, you can share the details with our malware researchers by filling out the form at the link provided below:

    https://www.bitdefender.com/consumer/support/answer/29358/

If the website or file is indeed incorrectly blocked, the detection will be removed within a maximum of 72 hours. However, if the detection still persists after 72 hours, please consider the website or file as malicious, as determined by our malware researchers, and the detection will remain.

    Regards

  • Thank you both for your help 🤗🙏🙌

  • It sounds like you're taking all the right precautions. Given that BitDefender deleted the detected threat and you followed up with AdwCleaner and HouseCall, your system should be clean.

Ensure your OS, browsers, and all security tools are up to date. Review your browser extensions to make sure none are suspicious. Keep an eye on your system's behavior over the next few days for any unusual activity. Running a full scan with Windows Defender can provide an additional layer of protection.

Your planned purchase of Malwarebytes is a great idea for added security. Keep doing regular scans and staying cautious online!
