BD finding fault with a long time program
Recently, BD has been detecting an "infected file" and "malicious behavior" with one of my long standing programs. I am very sure that the file(s) and program in question are not malware or contain a threat to my system. So far I have been unable to stop this issue from reoccurring with BD . Any ideas?
Thanks

Hello.
Only the anti-malware researchers at Bitdefender Labs can help you with the issue.
You should report the file(s) and/or the URL(s) as false positive to Bitdefender Labs here:

Hello @Firecapt and welcome back to the community. I noticed you've been with us since 2012! 🙂
My assumption is that Advanced Threat Defense may have something to do with this detection. This security module continuously monitors the applications and processes running on your computer. It monitors suspicious activities such as copying files to important Windows operating system folders, executing or injecting code into other processes, multiplying them, changing the Windows registry, or installing drivers. So, if that app or program displays a behavior similar to what malware would do, it will block it. First, you can try to add the .exe of that program as an exception for the Advanced Threat Defense module and see if this solves the issue. Here's how to do this:
And here's more information on how this security module operates:
In the event the detection persists and there are no concerns and the program is trusted, you can report a potentially false positive detection to the Bitdefender Labs by using the dedicated form available at the link below:

Once confirmed, false alarms are corrected within hours.
Let us know what worked for you.
