Accidentally granted access to a page with malware

Hi, I'm currently subscribed to BD's Total Security Package. I'm someone who's working in digital marketing so I browse different sites on a daily basis, but always check them on VirusTotal. However, I recently granted access to a site that BD blocked with its usual message of caution.

I trust this site as I always publish content on it, so I ignored BD's message and proceeded to visit it. However, upon checking on VirusTotal, it has 3 warnings of malware from three different scanners.

Does BitDefender block malicious content when you're visiting an infected site?

I've scanned my personal laptop with MalwareBytes and nothing popped up. I've also done a quick scan on BitDefender just to be sure and nothing showed up too.

I've also deleted history, cache, and other stuff on my work Chrome browsers.

Is there something I can do to ensure that my laptop is truly clean?

TIA!

    Hello.

Bitdefender protects you against cyberattacks through a set of features that scan different areas of your device. One of the features, Online Threat Prevention, is designed to scan all web traffic and block any malicious content – infected URLs, untrusted web pages, fraudulent and phishing links.

Whenever you try to visit a website classified as unsafe, the website is blocked and a warning is displayed in your browser. The warning contains information such as the page URL and the detected threat.

In addition to webpages, Bitdefender can block online applications such as games, services, and tools if they access a harmful link or IP address in the background. You always get a pop-up notification “Threat detected” on your screen whenever Bitdefender blocks something.

You could follow the steps from these articles:

If those two scans don't detect and remove any threats from your system, then your laptop is clean.

Finally, you should report the URL(s) as false positive to Bitdefender Labs here:

You could also share the VirusTotal link of the URL(s) to the anti-malware researchers.

Only they can confirm if the website is safe or not.
    Regards.
