Can I turn off Bitdefender - having a critical false positive issue
I hope this is not going to be a deal killer for me. I have a few programs that are very important (and have been in use for several years) Running windows 11 Pro and have been using one particular ap for about 7 years. Been thru several Windows upgrades (7, 10 and now 11) and the program in question has been well supported and updated to date.
The is the first time (in 7 years) that I have had this issue. I tried to installed the latest update for this program and during the install BitDefender started quarentining about a dozen various files WHICH resulted with my program not only not being able to be updated, but also borked the program and now I can not run it. This program is on a PC that runs 24 / 7 as an HTPC and is on constantly as it records TV shows and movies. So now it's been rendered useless.
I seem to have a LOT of false positives showing up often when it does it's daily virus scan.
What can I do? Trying to report the false positives (a ton of them) was so cumbersom I gave up.
Is there any way to TURN OFF Bit defender so I can get this program installed?

First, you should report the files to the Bitdefender malware research team for review. If the files are numerous, you can select all of them, zip them, and upload them to the website provided below. In the description box, you can inform the malware research team that all the files have been manually selected for the software named "XYZ."
Below is the website

If the website or file is indeed incorrectly blocked, the detection will be removed within a maximum of 72 hours. However, if the detection still persists after 72 hours, consider the website or file as malicious, as determined by our malware researchers, and the detection will remain.
Second, while your files are being checked by the Bitdefender malware researchers, you can add the software you're using to the exclusion list in your Bitdefender product.
1) Temporarily disable Bitdefender Protection:
2) Set exclusions in Bitdefender Antivirus:
3) Set exclusions in Bitdefender Advanced Threat Defense:
4) Re-enable real-time protection in Bitdefender.
