  • Bitdefender Total Security is an antimalware product, whereas Bitdefender Anti-Tracker is a privacy blocker with some ad-blocking functionality as well. Bitdefender Total Security includes the Bitdefender Anti-Tracker option to install its extension on the web browser. As for Ublock Origin, it is a highly reputable ad blocker that has earned a strong reputation over the years. However, due to Google's MV3 extension policy, it will eventually be removed from Brave Browser as well. The built-in ad blocker in Brave is effective too. Ultimately, it is up to you to decide what works best for you, considering your system's processor and RAM capacity to ensure smooth performance. Personally, I use Ublock Origin Lite, Ublock Origin, Ghostery, Privacy Badger, Bitdefender Anti-Tracker, and Malwarebytes Browser Guard extensions on all my browsers.

Additionally, below are some websites you can use to test the blocking capacity of your ad blockers. You will need to manually disable a particular ad blocker to check it, then disable that one, enable the second one, and finally enable all blockers. This process will continue as needed.

Hi ! i am obliged for the detailed explanation👻
All of the extensions you wrote above failed to provide 100% results but there was a nice score.
ublock origin and malwarebytes made the same score as shown below , i checked them separately. all of the others were failed to block more ads. would you like to recommend few more extensions which may bring 100% results ? Are you sure this site provides cent percent accurate results ? as we experienced fake dns leak results on
    https://www.browserscan.net/ before.

This one passed all the tests with the combination of ublock origin & bitdefender anti tracker extension in chrome with the combination of ublock origin & b.d. anti tracker but the results were 96% on brave with the same extensions.

    Chrome :

    Brave :

    Chrome results for https://test.adminforge.de/adblock.html

whether Brave's default went far away alone without any extensions:

    it's a mixed curie😉.

The extensions I mentioned effectively block 100% of ads and trackers when used together. Below are the images.

While ad blockers are highly effective at reducing ads and trackers, not all can block 100% due to the complexity and constant evolution of advertising and tracking technologies. Advanced techniques, such as device fingerprinting and server-side tracking, can bypass even the best tools. Some websites also use anti-ad-block scripts or create ad formats that are harder to detect. Additionally, filter lists may not cover all new trackers immediately, leaving gaps in protection. Combining ad blockers or using custom filters can improve results, but no single solution ensures complete blocking

Depending on how concerned you want to be, I find this (below) to be very satisfactory. I am not too concerned about 100%. I also wonder if to many browser extensions can jeopardize a AV's browser protection effectiveness? Maybe it could even jeopardize some website functionality or information that could be helpful? Bitdefender Anti-Tracker had no bearing on the outcome, either way, enabled or disabled.

Here is just with Brave set at Aggressively, no other extensions and the 2 scripts added into its Content Filters, no other filters were enabled, just the default ones in Brave. The 99% in the 2nd image was before the 2 Ad scripts were added.

Also, if you have multiple extensions enabled, and one of them breaks the functionally of a website, how do you know which one it is without enabling and disabling them to find the culprit? IMO, FWIW, keep it simple :)

    Cheers :)
