There are no widespread, confirmed conflicts between NordVPN and Bitdefender Total Security, including when using both the NordVPN "Threat Protection" feature and Bitdefender's Anti-Tracker extension alongside uBlock Origin.
Again, Bitdefender Anti-Tracker is not a malicious/phishing website blocker. It's only a privacy blocker with a limited capacity as an ad blocker too. NordVPN's Threat Protection is similar to Bitdefender's Traffic Light web browser extension, in case you are referring to Bitdefender's web browser extension-related products. That being said, the web protection feature of Bitdefender in the Bitdefender product is also similar to NordVPN's Threat Protection. They might block the same malicious/phishing websites, or they may not; one may block some, and the other may not. Whatever it may be, no one has any issues with either when it comes to malicious/phishing website blocking.
Make use of the website stated below to check various products against phishing/malicious URL blocking. The stated website has one of the largest collections of phishing/malicious URLs.

Hi @Rock.87
I've been using the nordvpn app on my pc with bitdefender total security for over a year now without having experienced any conflict with the bitdefender total security.
It does sometimes when bitdefender blocks a threat it shows opened by nordsec-threatprotection-service.exe.
So I guess this mean the nordvpn threat protection blocks it first and then it also gets blocked by bitdefender, this is only for some threats and when bitdefender blocks a threat that was opened by nordvpn threat protection it does not show up in the nordvpn threat protection blocked items list but only in the bitdefender blocked items list in the notifications.

@Petersl @Flexx thanks v much for providing such awesome information. nord did not work perfectly for me , i am using express vpn instead , same question about the express vpn, ld u like to do me a favor by answering about that ? flexx ye websites provided on your recommended website are not accessible , my browser stopped them b4 they could open.
Any how Nord is unable to spoof all of the locations while express is failed for all ( which i tried ) , java is still revealing my time & location in the browser scan tests.
@Flexx u guided me about an extension name as '' chameleon '' to spoof the location , it's quite good but i ve read that it does not work where there are cloud flare checks ? Do you guys know about more comprehensive solution for this purpose ?
As chrome store does not contain chameleon can u name any other legitimate extension for chrome ?
Does chameleon extension generates conflicts with express vpn's location spoofing or bitdefender's workout ?1 -
Based on what you've mentioned, using Tor Browser could be a good alternative for masking your real IP address and location.
Tor Browser works by routing your traffic through multiple nodes in the Tor network, which makes it highly effective for hiding your actual location and bypassing any IP-based tracking. It also doesn't rely on VPNs or browser extensions for location spoofing, so it avoids conflicts you might face with ExpressVPN or the Chameleon extension.
In your case:
- Tor Browser should handle location and IP address spoofing without the need for additional extensions.
- It provides a better level of anonymity, making it harder for websites to detect your true location or identity.
- Tor is especially useful for cases where VPNs or extensions like Chameleon might be less effective, particularly with services like Cloudflare, which could block or challenge typical IP-masking tools.
Since Chameleon might not work well with Cloudflare checks and could cause conflicts with other tools like ExpressVPN or Bitdefender, using Tor for browsing while keeping your VPN for other activities may offer the best of both worlds.
Also, to add here, below is the scan result from
. You can easily see that there is no information about one's own country; everything has been masked. When we checked earlier with the VPN, it always showed the change in the IP country, but JavaScript still revealed our own country. So, it's a win for Tor Browser! As you can see, there is no mention of my country, India, even without the VPN.You would also like the feature of manually changing the IP for a particular website, although it is also automatically done. To do this, you’ll need to click on the bluish-purple pipe icon in Tor Browser and then select 'New Tor Circuit for this Site.' This allows you to change the exit node for that specific website without affecting your overall browsing experience.
You can check this on a website like Netflix, though it works for other websites too (but not sure if it works for all). When you open the Netflix website, it will load based on your current IP address, showing the content for the country associated with that IP. Afterward, if you click on 'New Tor Circuit for this Site,' the IP will change, and Netflix will automatically refresh to display the content for the new country corresponding to the updated IP.
Note: Surfing with Tor Browser might be slower due to the following reasons:
- Multiple relay nodes: Tor routes your traffic through multiple random nodes around the world, which can add significant latency to your connection.
- Encryption overhead: Every packet of data is encrypted multiple times, which increases the time it takes for your request to reach its destination.
- Traffic congestion: Since Tor is a free network, there can be traffic congestion on the nodes, which can slow down the browsing experience.
- Exit node speed: The final exit node, which sends your data to the destination, can be slow if it's not well-maintained or if it's being heavily used.
Despite the slower speeds, Tor offers greater privacy and anonymity.

Hi @Rock.87
Expressvpn works just fine with bitdefender total security at the moment.
There was a serious issue with expressvpn and bitdefender total security that started in August 2023 and was fixed in July 2024.
I made a post about it on the forum: https://community.bitdefender.com/en/discussion/97021/bitdefender-firewall-not-working-with-expressvpn-after-update-to-27-0-18-96
The issue described in my post is the only time I had an issue with expressvpn and bitdefender total security, as it is fixed now you can go ahead with peace of mind that it will work without issue.
I myself use nordvpn and expressvpn (mostly nordvpn at the moment), you said nordvpn is not perfectly working for you.
In my experience nordvpn does have some issues sometimes with the app but it always works with bitdefender but expressvpn app works better then the nordvpn app (less issue with the app and issues are fixed faster with expressvpn then nordvpn in my experience).

I reviewed the two answers provided for the two questions. While both responses were informative, I'm acknowledging here in the comments that both of you provided satisfactory answers. I've also clicked 'Insightful' for both of you as you both deserve recognition.
But he problem is that Tor Browser isn't functioning in my country, even the Tor option isn't available in another browser named as Brave's private window. In this situation, can you suggest any alternative solutions or workarounds for using Tor, or perhaps other methods for enhancing privacy ?
ld u plz also explain that the extension's options like these :could be affected if i turn on fast sleep option 4 the browser tabs? specially when we r not using the whole browsers & it's snoozed? as these options only works within & for the browser instead of the whole system ?

Hi @Rock.87
Tor is not available in your country? Is your government or ISP blocking the site? Have you downloaded the tor browser while being connected to a VPN or without VPN?
Maybe your ISP or government is blocking the DNS of the tor site, the government in my country did this with the piratebay a few years ago and all I had to do to bypass this was to change my DNS.
Try changing your DNS to 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4 in your adaptor settings that you use to connect to the internet.
