Clicking On Virus Scans Tab Results In Critical Error And Product Restart

First my scan options are gone and now everytime I click on the virus scan tab in advanced view, I am prompted that a critical error has occured.I tried repair, uninstalling and re-installing even the patch that you recommended in a post.Even then nothing is working.Just to let you know, my brother accidentally deleted the installed files and since then the problem has been persisting.Please help me out, I desperately need the antivirus back in working condition
