I Am Extremely Frustrated!

I purchased and downloaded the mentioned program. When I entered in the key code that was included in the download email; it does not work. Therefore, I can't register my name, password, etc. and can not get a hold of ANYONE to get a new key code. I work in Customer Service and I have never been so frustrated with the inability to get to a real person to get an answer. I do not know what to do at this point. Can anyone help me? :(

    Do youhave a Bitdefender Login and account already created with an existing account? Have you used there unistall utility to clean it up. If you had a previous version you might want to do a clean install. I would unistall it, then use the utility and see what it finds. restart the system in safe mode, go in and delete all bitdfedender folders in programs, documents and settings under each user. Use CCcleaner to clean it up especially the registry. Remove all restore points, you will not be able to clean the last one with CCcleaner. You might be able with Tune-Up Utilities, if not you will have to do a msconfig on the system to try to get the last restore point out. I would turn off the system restore point in the Computer properties before I started any of this. Let Me Be Clear. I have had to reformat my sytem thrice over Bitdefender. I have not installed my 2010 IS or 2011 Antivirus back because of it. If i ever figure it out, then I might reinstall. But Luckily I Won both and am glad I did not put the money out for them. I have backup Security Systems always!

    So if you do a msconfig, there is a chance you could have issue with another program, but done correctly maybe not. With Panda and Bitdefender it can be an issue.

    What is your OS and what kind of computer do you have. It would be a good idea on looking up how yo do a clean boot, "msconfig" if you cannot get rid of all the restore points and the software and files.

    Hope I have help. this is just things I have learned on my own. Not a computer wiz guy.

    Give me a hollow back and let me know if you need anything or if you try this. If it works you can reinstall or just put something else on there. You should be able to get a refund if you paid for it. Be aware someone could have pirated your key code. But Bitdefender should get back with you either way.

  • Hello Firmbeliever65,

    1. First please unplug the Internet cable from your computer or disable the Wireless adaptor if you are using one

    2. Click on Start and then choose My Computer/Computer.

    3. Browse to:

    C:\Program Files\BitDefender\BitDefender 2011

    - considering that BitDefender was installed on the default C partition

    4. Double-click on the supporttool.exe file - if you are using Vista or Windows 7, right-click on the supporttool application file and select Run as Administrator

    5. Click on Next, wait a few minutes for the progress bar to complete and then click on Finish

    6. A file will be created on your desktop. Please move it to a location of your choice (i.e. move it on your c:\ drive)

    7. Reconnect your internet cable (only after you have moved the file to the new location)

    8. Upload the created file HERE

    9. Include a detailed description of the issue you are encountering and a screenshot of the error message, if there is one.

    10. Send me a PM (Private Message) with the download link.

    [How to CAPTURE A SCREENSHOT]

    - When the error message is on your screen press the "PrintScreen" key on your keyboard ("PrintScreen" is located at the top of the keyboard, at right; At this step we can not see anything, as the picture is copied into Windows's clipboard);

    - Open a graphic editing application (We recommend using the standard Paint program, that comes with every Windows installation from Start > Programs > Accessories > Paint);

    - Paste the picture in a new Paint document (using Edit > Paste);

    - Save the file in JPEG format

    - attach it to this topic.

    Make sure you mask the license key if that screenshot includes the Registration details.
