Cannot Login After Installing 2011 Internet Security

Options

I was running 2010 Internet Security without problem. Then I tried to upgrade to 2011. I found it prevented me from logging into Windows XP. I booted in safe mode and uninstalled IS 2011. I then tried installing it again and ultimately found the same problem. Can someone help me with this? Or must I find another product for firewall and virus protection?

Also is there any easy way to disable Bitdefender while in safe mode so I can recover without a complete uninstall?

  • Hello Steve,

Please use the uninstall tool below to remove all traces of BitDefender.

    http://www.bitdefender.com/uninstall

Save the file then open it when the download is complete. Click on the uninstall button and wait for the process to finish. Restart the PC and then follow the steps below:

    1. Download http://www.bitdefender.com/files/Knowledge...ile/sysdump.exe

    2. Locate and open 'sysdump.exe'

    3. A command prompt window will appear on your screen. Please note that the information gathering process can take several minutes therefore please wait until the window disappear by itself.

    4. The result will be the file called 'SYSDUMP.TAR'

When you have the sysdump.tar please upload the file HERE then send me a PM (private message) with the download link.

  • Hello Steve,

The reason you receive an error and can't login after installation BitDefender is because you also have installed and running:

    - Startup Cop Pro 3.0

    - EasyCleaner

Please uninstall them from Add/Remove Programs then restart the PC. Try to download the kits below then, when the download is complete open the file and start the installation. Let me know if the issue still occur.
