Does Bitdefender Turn Off Ie Protected Mode?

RE: Bitdefender Antivirus 2011 Pro

Began using Bitdefender again [my ancient computer finally crashed for good.]

I'm wondering if during iinstallation configuration Bitdefender automatically turns off

Internet Explorer "Protected Mode." I didn't turn it off.

It appears as if Bitdefender uses its own protection procedure when visiting websites and

two would be unnecessary. Is this true?

I am also running BDAV Pro 2011 and Protected Mode is ON within IE8. In my experience, installing BD does not turn this off.

Have you tried turning it back on? You have to close & restart IE8 after changing the setting in Options for it to take effect. Protected Mode is also affected by UAC.
