Runtime & Application Error On Trial Version

When I try to view logs in parental control, I get a windows xp popup with a visual c++ runtime error. And an unknown exception popup (event id 26 see below):

Event Type: Information

Event Source: Application Popup

Event Category: None

Event ID: 26

Date: 10/1/2010

Time: 8:53:16 AM

User: N/A

Computer: COMPUTER1

Description:

Application popup: BitDefender Internet Security 2011: history.exe - Application Error : The exception unknown software exception (0x40000015) occurred in the application at location 0x7857bb47.

Click on OK to terminate the program

--------------------------------

Then I get a bitdefender popup that history/event viewer has encountered a critical error. I have the option of reporting the error, and allowing the program to try again. Same result.

Thanks for the help!

    Hey Daniel, I "fixed" it!

Obviously neither of us have kids (or at least kids using our computers)

I created a new user account in Windows. Switched Parental Control On for that account, and made sure sure to click the box in Settings to "Save an Internet Traffic Log". I switched to that user, surfed the web for a few minutes. Then switched back to the original account, clicked "View Logs", and there they were!

I then deleted that user account and clicked "View Logs" with no problem. I turned on Parental Control for my account. Again, no problem.

I can't say it will never happen again, but I am putting this program through its paces to see if I want to buy it. So I will let you know.

  • Thanks for the workaround however the issue was permanently fixed. If you still have issues with it, please let me know. For now I will consider this case resolved and the topic closed.

    Kind regards,
