Bdis 2011 Failing During Deep System Scan

So far so good with my new BDIS 2011...but...evry time I try a deep system bitdefender fails and I have to restart and or reboot ? Each time I have sent in the log report.

Is there any solution to this and/or are others having same issue ?

All other manual or scheduled scans seem to finish ok...just never deep system scan will complete ?

Thanks...TiminAZ

  • Hi. You stated "fail" and "never complete" so I am not sure exactly what is happening. Does it fail with an error message or does it seem to get stuck/hung and not complete? If it is failing with an error message, it would help tech support if you could post a screenshot of the error message.

    Thanks,

Thanks Gary...As the above pretty well explains...Deep system scan was failing about 1/2 way through and then BitDefender would not close and/or respond. Had to restart and/or close down thru task master.

Only error per-se was the usually "Sorry...BD had to close...but I did send the dump file every time along with my email a few times ?

However...came across a similar post where a user recommended to disable the "Search" feature in 2011 and AutoUpdate...and low and behold...Deep System Scan works fine ?

Don't really think tho that one should have to disable the auto update feature of a product just to use it...but for now the Deep Scan is completing in it's normal approximately 8 hr run time.

  • Thanks for the additional information. I don't think disabling search assist and auto update are meant to be a final solution. I think BD is using this information to pinpoint which areas of BD may be causing the problem.

I'm sure they will see this topic and the helpful information you provided.

    Thanks,
