Bitdefender Causes Application Processes To Stay In Memory

So I noticed a while back that many application processes kept hanging around in the processes list of task manager even though I've closed the applications. This didn't happen all the time but I'd say 75% of the time though some applications would always stay after closing like Mumble's server Murmur. Chrome's process would usually stay in the memory after closing it. Battlefield 2 also.

Now this of course would create problems like trying to run a program and it'd say that the program is already running or in the case of games, Bitdefender would stay in game mode and Aero interface wouldn't come back on. Not really nice to see after a long day that the OS is keeping over 20 Chrome processes hanging around without Chrome open.

This has happened both with Bitdefender (Internet Security) 2010 and 2011. I've used the 64bit versions as I have a 64bit Vista. I haven't tried 32bit Bitdefenders. This happens also after a clean OS install and I've pinpointed this to Bitdefender as after I just uninstalled it, programs and processes are closing like they should.

Any solution to this?
