Bitdefender Service Are Not Responding..

OK Ive just switched to Windows 7 x86 to x64 and I have just reinstalled Bitdefender 2011.

The reason I'm here is pretty obvious, it's not working!

First I was getting this error.

"The application has failed to start because its side-by-side configuration is incorrect"

Then I installed the Microsoft Visual C++ 2008 Redistributable Package (x64) like suggested by other post.

Since then Bitdefender has been loading but the tray icon is grayed out and if you hover the mouse over it you can see the following message

"Bitdefender Services are not responding. Please restart the computer and if the problem persists contact Bitdefender support."

Every now and then Bitdefender prompt me to restart my computer witch I did for at least 10 times now. Good to note that I've installed Bitdefender 2011, 2-3 weeks ago on another computer (x86, windows XP) and I don't remember having to restart the computer that much and Bitdefender has always been working while updating.

So here I am asking for help, so please help me!

Must mention that I'm using the BitDefender Antivirus 2011 only.

I'm currently following this guide to see if it can resolve the issue.

  • The procedure in that post was going to be my suggestion. ;)

Please post back with your results.

    Regards,

  • YESS!! It has fixed my issue!! I'm happy and Thanks for asking!

    One quick comment,

When looking at the Uninstall tools doing it's magic, you can't really know if it's doing anything or just looping the same messages again and again. I got confused at first but I decided to let it go for a while and it eventually ended.

  • Great! Glad it worked for you.

The uninstall tool removes many BD products which is why it takes awhile and I understand that it may appear to be in a loop, but really isn't.

Since your problem is resolved, I will close this thread.

Please feel free to open a new topic if you have another issue.
