Current Key Expiring In 3 Days

Good Afternoon All

Just need to know my current 2009 total security expires in 3 days, I have purchased Total Security 2010 my question is I installed the new version with the key on 1 computer, I noticed that the remaing days on the new key have started to decrease why is it not taking the remaining days off the older key before starting on the new key?

I have held off installing this on my other 2 computers I figure I will just let the present key expire then I will install the new key?

Can you please advise me it would be appreciated.

Also total security offers online back up When I put in my original 2009 version it was not activated it kept telling me it was expired?

when I installed the 2010 total secrity the same thing is happening can you explain to me why this is happening when I have never used it originally.

By the way I love the product and plan to stay with bitdefender

thanks again for your help

  • I should start by good morning since it's passed 3 AM in here. Hamdawg the reason why the count down started on your new license key is because you have used it to register BitDefender. You should have waited for the old license key to expire and then, when requested, to use the new key.

About installing the 2010 version I strongly recommend you to install the newest one by following the steps explained in This Article.

Before upgrading check to see if you meet the System requirements as also mentioned in the article mentioned above.

As a compensation for the few days left, I would recommend installing BitDefender on the other two PCs as Trial, without registering it. The trial version works with all modules enabled as it would have been purchased for 30 days (15 days if you do NOT register an account with us). When you have 1-2 days left from the Trial register it with the purchased license key.

To avoid this from happening in the future make sure that you renew your license key, you don't purchase a new one. To renew an expired license key (or close from expiration) click HERE.

    Have a great week!
