Unable To Access Help Or Tools
I am on a 30 day trial of Bitdefender Total Security 2011 but am unable to access the help from th security centre I get the message "windows is unable to access the specified device, path or file. You may not have the appropriate permissions to access the item" in addition when I try to use the disc defragmenter in tools it will not proceed and I get "Administrative permission are required for this task". I am the only user on this pc and am the administrator

What Windows are you using ? Please provide me with a screenshot of the error message you mentioned in your first post.
Also right click on My Computer -> Manage. There go to System Tools -> Local Users and Groups -> Groups -> Administrators and there tell me all users listed.

On Windows, press the Print Screen or Prnt Scrn key on your keyboard, found at the upper right of the keyboard. This key will capture the entire screen. Open up your paint program -click on "Start-> All Programs-> Accessories-> Paint".
In the paint program, select File/New, then Edit/Paste. Then save the file as JPG and attach it to this topic.
