Http Stream Issues

Hello,

I've the problem, that whenever I try to use an http stream...it doesn't work.

Bitdefender seems to download everything before it goes to the browser or the used program.

I disabled HTTP scan.

I disabled privacy scan.

I disabled Child protection.

I disabled Firewall for test reasons.

I disabled AV for test reasons.

I disabled nearly everything for testing.

In 2010 I was able to use the streams when I disabled Yahoo IM scan. But that doesn't work for 2011.

Why is Bitdefender still scanning the http traffic even if I disabled it?

This is a huge issue for mercurial (hg) repositorys which are HTTP based.

I'm using tortoisehg to download from a big repository and it fails since I updated to 2011.

Also some webbased chatsystems don't work and will result in a white page instead of the chat stream.

This needs to be fixed ASAP!

We need a button to enabled/disable Bitdefenders http caching!

You can read a many post about that thing in the forum, e.g. here:

I hope that the support will now work on a solution.

  • Hello,

I believe you have a different issue than Olli. You mentioned

Why is Bitdefender still scanning the http traffic even if I disabled it?

    - how do you know it is still scanning the traffic ?

    I'm using tortoisehg

    - can you provide me with more details ? Not familiar with tortoisehg.

some webbased chatsystems don't work and will result in a white page

    - can you give me some of the pages ? Also tell me if you have the Antiphishing enabled and if you have the pages added to whitelist.

Olli: You are correct, we are working on a resolution as we speak. We are currently testing it, it shouldn't take long to be deployed as an automatic update that requires no further actions on your behalf.

  • Hello,

    - how do you know it is still scanning the traffic?

I'm not sure if it's scanning but it must running through bitdefenders "proxy".

It worked until I updated bitdefender.

HG (Mercurial) is a versioncontrol system. Its repository can be accessed by HTTP. The Client itself downloads the files via http.

One repository I am using is: http://hg.phoenixviewer.com/phoenix-sg/. I'm unable to download the whole repository at once on my Bitdefender system. It does about the half of the repository and then breaks with a "connection closed" (or similar) error.

    - can you give me some of the pages ? Also tell me if you have the Antiphishing enabled and if you have the pages added to whitelist.

One of these pages is: http://server3.webkicks.de/kiba/

Yu can login when you enter any name inside the box beside of "oder als Gast?" and confirm the captcha on the next page. After logging in you will see the "online" user list on the right, the inputbox at the bottom and on the left you should see the stream. On my Bitdefender system I can only see a white page until I log out (connection gets closed by server). Antiphishing is disabled. I had the same issue with 2010 too, but I found out, that disabling Yahoo IM scanning works for 2010 but not for 2011.

    Thanks.

I wasn't able to find an Edit button...

    I've set up a test here: http://wolfspirit.eu/test.php

It doesn't work with Bitdefender for me...

even when I disable everything in Bitdefender.

This page just takes ages to load...and then displays all lines at ones.

What I need is displaying every line after each other...

(Sorry for pushing again...but is there no Edit button in here?)

I've added an updated test which will display if you're using a proxy/antivirus which is scanning the http traffic and forwarding only if finished. or if you're not using one:

    http://www.wolfspirit.eu/test2.php

Hope to get any answer soon...it's really a pain for me...if that isn't fixed soon I'll remove bitdefender for now.

    Hello Wolfspirit,

I have tested both pages as follows:

    1. http://server3.webkicks.de/kiba/

On my Bitdefender system I can only see a white page until I log out

    - what should I see ? Check the first screenshot

    2. http://www.wolfspirit.eu/test2.php

    - I can see all lines one after another until it gets to 100 when the test is complete.

I created a ticket on your behalf with the ID: 201011271015923. Check your email and provide me with the requested details on how to further proceed.
