Windows7 Will Not Recognise Since Update

Since an automatic update to BitDefender 2011, Windows 7 security panel does not recognise either the antivirus or firewall as turned on. It puts up a panel asking to run an exe file. BitDefender says that it is turned on.

. What do you mean by that ? Can you post a screenshot of that message ?
