How Do I Get Total Security To Stop Deleting Infect Files?

I have Bitdefender Total Security 15.0.6.1530 and windows 7 home premium sp1 64 bit os. How do I get it so Bitdefender will stop deleting infected files while running a scan and while I move them around?

I DO NOT want it deleting them. How do I change it in the settings so it will stop deleting them? Thank you!

  • Hi that1 :)

I take it you have those files to test AVs scanning and detection abilities? You may need to do a little organizing for that, in this way:

    • Create a folder structure as per you liking, i.e. 2-4 + folders named for your malware samples.
    • Turn off your On Access Scanning in your settings, and send/organize the files to the folders of your choice. Settings/Antivirus/Shield/toggle "off"
    • Then exclude those Files from future scans, by excluding those in, Settings/Antivirus/Exclusions/Exclude Files and Folders.
    • Turn your On-Access scanning back on.

Hope this helps, if you have any more question, let us know.

  • Hello :)

Please open Bitdefender, click on Settings and move to Antivirus module.

From right side, select the Shield tab and under On Access scanning Settings click on Modify.

Under Actions, please elect Move files to quarantine. From there, you can recover deleted files.

    Thank you.
