How To Rename A Custom Scan
Ok...searched thru the forums for subject terms but could find nothing....how do you remame a "custom scan"....
I've have edited the xml file in the logs folder...but nothing changes in the BDIS 2012 custom scan window ?
How do you rename the scan from say :
Product: Bitdefender Internet Security 2012
Scanning task: Created: 15.05.2012 (Custom)
to
Product: Bitdefender Internet Security 2012
Scanning task: Full Scan less G: drive
or something ?
Thanks....TiminAz

To do that, hover over with your mouse the scan you want to rename, click on the star next to the scan you want to rename, making it a favorite, a text box will then appear where you can type in a scan description. I also liked your other thread on how to delete a Custom Scan, ...you ask such good questions

Hi TiminAz
From your post about how to delete the Custom Scan, read this post by Christian.
e.g
<task>
<taskId>c20d0000-2df5-4a22-2a26-57bab7485fa0</taskId>
<name>Created: 27.12.2011 (Normal) </name>
<userDefinedExtensions></userDefinedExtensions>
<statisticsRefreshInterval>500</statisticsRefreshInterval>
…………………………… (settings)
<scheduleId>ba880000-22ab-4d86-3f58-7fbd221bca5</scheduleId>
<scanPaths>
<path>C:\Documents and Settings\testing\Desktop\gci-demo_trader_setup.exe</path>
</scanPaths>
<extraData>
<option key="timestamp" value="1324945827" />
<option key="quickTask" value="true" />
</extraData>
</task>
Try to change the bold text as you want and then check whether the Task Name has been changed or not. Keep updating us.0 -
Hello
In Bitdefender 2013 we are working to implement a different system for Custom scans.
You should be able to customize all the scans in the final version.
Thank you for your patience!0 -
Thanks for that info Christian That would be nice, something a little more user friendly. Safepay is incredible....ok, I know we aren't supposed to get into that here, but I couldn't resist

Ok, but what about this topic?

Hello
For the 2012 version, the rename can only be made by manually editing the XML files with the actual scans.
You will see the progress in the future Beta versions from Bitdefender 2013.
Take care.0
