Welcome to the forums.

Please open Bitdefender using the icon from your desktop and click on Settings. From there go to the Antivirus module and select the Shield tab.

If you wan tot temporary turn off the protection, set On-access scanning and Active Virus Control to off.

Remember to turn it back on after.
