Scan Task Odd Details
I intentionally keep some infected files and keygens on my USB Stick. When I scan my USB Stick by Device Detection Scan, Bitdefender found some infections and resolve them by deleting/disinfecting them. But there are some very odd things I noticed.
1) Sometimes it display only the folder name in which the I save the malicious file and not the name of the infected file e.g in resolved items in the attached log, instead of displaying the "I:\bytka\obviko.exe" it display only the path "I:\bytka". Why?
2) In the Basic sub-category of Detailed Scan Summary, the infected items are 4, while the resolved items are 6. But actually the Resolved Issues were 3. Why is the difference?
3) From another Scan Task Log, there are are 1536 Ignored issues. What are these? These are displayed randomly, not every time. I mean if I re-scan the USB Stick, they might not display.

Hi Omer
Let's clear some things:
3. We are aware of this situation, there is a workaround posted here: http://forum.bitdefender.com/index.php?sho...st&p=153962
Basically all the ignored items are considered unresolved at the end of the scan. This will be fixed in the next product update.
2. Some files have more than one malware component and when the action is taken, the counter will display all of them.
We talked in another topic about objects and files.
1. Do you still have those samples? I will need to reproduce the situation to see why only the folder is displayed in the scan log.
Please put them back in the same configuration and put the content of the USB Device in an archive. I will unpack it directly and scan the device.
Send me please the archive via PM.

With reference to this post, why there is difference in the Scanned Registry Keys in the Full System Scan, although they are run one after the other without restarting the system and with dis-connected internet connection? Kindly see the Log Files 1345636066_1_01, 1345644204_1_01, 1345647151_1_01.

Hello
On your machine the scanning results are influenced by those ignored items.
I could not reproduce the issue with the provided samples.

Is it possible that the actions may be different for the malware components?0 -
Hello
Some malware are packed in a single .exe file so the product will unpack it first and the action will be taken separately for each component.
