Updating?
I have Bitdefender on my laptop.
The thing is, it is only sporadically connected to the internet.
There is no button to update virus definitions.
I have left the laptop on for the past couple of hours, connected to the internet, hoping it might catch on and update itself.
It hasn't.
Is there a way to get modern virus definitions with this program when you aren't constantly connected to the internet?
Or is it advisable to switch to a more user-friendly antivirus?
Thanks for the help.

Hi kokkas, and welcome
Are you not able to manually update from the Update Panel? (see below)
Bitdefender updates occur roughly every hour. See if you can manually update, and restart your notebook after the update to see if BD will download the updates in a more timely fashion.
You can also manually download the updates from here, and then restart your notebook, and see if Bitdefender starts updating more frequently by looking in the Events/Update UI and confirm the update history.
If all else fails, you could try running a repair: http://forum.bitdefender.com/index.php?showtopic=35489
Hope one of these ideas helps

You're welcome. Now that you know the approx. frequency of the updates, and where to look for the update events (logs), you can track to see if it's updating appropriately.
Have a good weekend0
