High Vsserv.exe Virtual Memory Usage.
Since replacing Norton AV with Bitdefender AVPlus 2013 my idle memory usage is now much higher than before.
After rebooting the computer the idle memory usage is around 40% which is the same as it was with the Norton AV product.
After a few days of usage the memory usage at idle will slowing increase until it is around 60% to 70%.
Using Process Explore from systinternals.com I can see the VM size for vsserve.exe is almost 1 GB.
I’m running Windows 7 Pro 32 bit.
A reboot resets the memory usage back to normal.
Any insight into how to get the vsserv.exe virtual memory usage lower would be greatly appreciated.

I have the same issue. In Resource Monitor, vsserv.exe use about 300,000 KB virtual memory (commit) but the working memory is only 20,000 KB. However, my computer still tells me that it is lack of memory. And sometimes some other programs just crash because of lack of memory.
I do have 4GB ram but I have a very slow HDD. So I turn off the virtual memory on hard drive to speed it up, and all the virtual memory is actually on my ram. Therefore, vsserv.exe is still using lots of memory from my ram in this sense.0
