Disable Auto-scan When Pc Not Active.

Is there a way to disable the annoying background auto-scan when the system is not active.
I wan't to be the one who decides when a scan can be performed! It's making too much problems.
Even when the scan stops the system is still sluggish (Firefox is unusable, chrome is sluggish, applications take time to open).
It's definitely the auto-scan running in the background and getting paused when i use my PC again.
On a manual scan I can still open manage scans in BD but not when the auto-scan is/was running in the background.
It's a freesh Windows 8 install, reinstalled BD but it's the same!
