Got To Be A Way
I am not happy with the Bitdefender user interface and I particularly dislike the annoying popup for the Mybitdefender login. I have reviewed online discussions that go back a few years and I know similar concerns expressed in this forum by Bitdefender customers are not adequately addressed. Complaints go largely unanswered. Responses tend to extoll the virtues of the added features. Clearly, the company is not interested in offering an opt out feature to the annoying popup. It strikes me as a bad business model.
Yes, I have registered a Mybitdefender account and yes, the popup persists. No, I do not care to use any of the features. All I want is a robust program that updates regularly and scans my emails and downloads, etc. I do not want a program that constantly asks me to log in or review weekly reports. Let me decide what features I want to use.
There must be a work around. Does anyone know what service or process I can disable? Is there a tweak to the system registry?
How is the popup generated? Is it through the installed program or is Bitdefender calling home and generating the popup regularly off the Internet? Can I block Bitdefender from downloading this popup?
If I cannot resolve this issue, I will not renew my subscription.

Have you tried turning off the "Notify me when a new security report is available" in the GUI>General Settings?
I have not logged into MyBitdefender for a couple of days and haven't had any reminders about it, in fact apart from the Security Report advice today I haven't had any pop-us since the last one a week ago.0 -
Rohugh,
Thanks for responding. However, I really doubt this is the solution. Clearly, if it was this easy, someone from Bitdefender would have responded to my question by now and told me as much. I have tried to disable as much as I can find. Since my first post, the security report has not been displayed, but I still get the all too regular popup to login to MyBitdefender.
Either (1) Bitdefender does not monitor this forum regularly, (2) does not want to admit that this annoying feature cannot been turned off or stopped, (3) does not care about customer complaints about this feature, or (4) all of the above. If any of these scenarios are true, it is bad business.
I believe Bitdefender customers deserve a straightforward response from the company. Spare me an explanation about the supposed virtues of the feature. All I want to know is how to disable the MyBitdefender login popup.

I will firstly say that I like MyBitdefender and the options that it gives, and again say that I have no pop-ups apart from the weeky report.
However, if you do not want to use it a search showed this from Bitdefender Technical Support in reply to a similar question-Lastly, if you are still not interested in using the on-line features of the Bitdefender product, you can choose to enter any random email address and password in the box that prompts you to create a Bitdefender account. Once you do that, you will no longer receive pop-up reminders about the activation.
If you wish to follow this line of action, these are the instructions to change your associated email.0 -
O.K. This is ridiculous.
I made my original post 5 months ago. I still get a daily pop-ups to login in to Mybitdefender account. I have switched off everything that I think is linked to the annoying pop-up, and I have played with running processes and services trying to stop the problem -- and it is a problem.
The solution is to create a bogus login. Ridiculous. Why would the company prefer this option -- a collection of bogus email accounts -- over a simple switch in the user interface to opt-out of the login feature? The company would have a far better measure of customer satisfaction and preferences than a bunch of useless email addresses.
Alas, my subscription to the service expires in a few weeks and I am compelled to shop elsewhere. ******!0
