Unstoppable
On a number of occasions I have needed to stop a number of bitdefender tasks to free up files which are locked.
There appears to be absolutely no way of suspending bitdefender completely except by uninstalling it completely!
" /> Maybe I have missed something, but I have found it impossible to get through to their (presumably non-existent)
customer support. Their help support program freezes after gathering data, or if you ask to enter a ticket, it goes into a loop
It asks for details about the problem, mucks around a bit, then offers a link to open a ticket, which asks for details about the problem, and mucks ...
Any way, it is gone now, and I am back to good old Zonealarm. Poorer, sadder, but at least, wiser.

Customer services and the support system have worked fine for me.
You can shut down Bitdfender from the GUI, and if really necessary you could have used Task Manager.0 -
Hello rosselliot,
Sorry to hear you have moved onto a different AV, I see you are posting in the 2012 forum, if you are using an old version of Bitdefender you should upgrade (for free) to the latest version -

There is no way to completely shut off Bitdefender from working, although it has been asked for a number of times on the forums. You can, however, remove it from start-up in msconfig, restart the computer, do what you need to then recheck it in the start-up tab.
Hopefully you will give BD another try.0 -

If you shut it from the GUI, the various processes are still there, locking resources. Trying to stop these from the task manager, fails with access denied, even if you are an admin.0 -
