Bitdefender Has Intermittent Lock Ups Preventing Updates And Changes
So I have been using Bitdefender for a few years now and I have seen a problem consistent across versions and computers apparently. BitDefender has these moments where I seem to be unable to change any settings or profiles until I conduct a restart. I would get messages about updates needing to take place, and no matter how often I try to start the update, it fails. Other things it does:
- Refusal to change profile (gets stuck in game mode for no reason)
- Unable to activate virus scanner (when it locks up, AV is marked disabled)
- Cannot activate firewall
Sometimes (rarely) this persists through a system restart, but usually resolves itself. This issue has been present in the last 3 versions of Internet Security and experienced on at least 3 different computers. I have sent numerous service tickets about the issue, but because a restart usually fixes it, the real issue (whatever it may be) doesn't get addressed. Any inclination as to why this happens and what I can do to avoid this in the future?
