Ransomware only works on local folders

Just discovered that Ransomware can only be set up to protect local drives and folders so if you are running any kind of external or network storage (I have a Synology NAS), then Ransomware is no use.

So, you can mitigate against disk failure (NAS) or ransom but not both unfortunately.

Hi dave1946, welcome to Bitdefender forums. default_happy.png

Yes unfortunately I think that`s correct..

Maybe in some future versions it will be supported but until now there is no software that protects network storages, not to my knowledge. :(

Best solution is taking regular backups/snapshots, and keeping them on "un-plugged" storage or some cloud solution...
