Widget not showing when got 2nd display connected

I can't get the widget to display when I have a 2nd monitor connected, it just dissappears. I've obviously checked the 2nd monitor but it is nowhere to be seen. If I disable the 2nd monitor it reappears but generally it is partially obscured by the task bar, see attached image. The partially obscure widget could be to do with that I'm using windowblinds but it doesnt seem to bother my laptop. What is the process called that controls the widget so I can try add it as an exception so windowblinds can avoid skinning it.
