Hi guys, I have recently purchased Bitdefender (within the last week) and I was wondering if there is any documentation or if anyone can tell me what specifically the following windows services do:


  1. Redline

  2. Virus Shield

  3. Product Agent

  4. Device Management

  5. Desktop Update


Presumably the desktop update is in charge of making sure Bitdefender is up to date, however I can't find much information online about what the other services do.

    1. The Redline service is a back-up service should the Update Service crash or simply be unavailable


    2. The name is self explanatory


    3. The Agent has the role to keep your product linked with your Central account (subscription and Central features)


    4. Device Management is the module that keeps the tools in your product active


    5. Desktop Update is actually the update service
